Welcome to Dreamcakes

We specialize in creating custom wedding and event cakes that exceed traditional expectations. Our passion lies in designing eye-catching statement cakes that serve as more than just a final course; they are fine art centerpieces. Creativity and precision are at the heart of what we do, particularly in the beauty of our lifelike sugar flowers.

Our sugar work is what transforms each of our cakes into true works of art. Working with sugar flowers allows for virtually limitless flexibility of floral selection and color range. By working with hyperrealistic sugar flowers, we are also able to bypass common floristry challenges such as toxins, pesticides, seasonality, and wilting.

Working with us

  • We offer convenient to-go tasting boxes, available for pickup from our kitchen in Riverside by appointment only.

If you'd prefer a more in-depth experience, we’re also happy to arrange an in-person tasting with you.

  • Once we’ve received your save-the-date deposit, it’s time for your consultation! During the consultation, we'll talk through your design in a little more detail. We'll also discuss some additional options, like a cake stand rental, anniversary tier, and any toppers or decorations you’d like us to include.

For in-person consultations, feel free to bring along any physical materials that are inspiring you, such as color swatches, fabric cuttings, stationery, etc.

  • Due to the fragile nature of our cakes, delivery and set-up service is required for all of our multi-tier cakes. The cost of delivery is calculated based on your venue’s location.

We are able to travel up to a radius of 90 miles from our home kitchen in East Austin.

Meet Rachel

Dreamcakes was founded by Rachel Mazzara, a fashion-turned-cake designer based in Austin, Texas.

After earning a fine arts degree from Parsons School of Design, Rachel spent a decade working as a fashion designer in New York City. When Covid-19 forced the world indoors in 2020, she found a creative outlet in baking and decorating cakes for her friends and neighbors. Following the positive reception of her homemade cakes, she began operating a licensed cottage bakery, called Dreamcakes, from her studio apartment in Brooklyn while maintaining her full-time fashion job.

As word spread about her cakes, Rachel made the decision to part ways with the fashion industry and fully immerse herself into the world of luxury cake artistry. She left her job (and New York City) in 2023 and put down roots in Austin, Texas, where she now operates Dreamcakes full time.
